Delivery of ammonia converter cargo weighing 782 tons under route: Port of Marghera (Italy) - Veliky Novgorod (Russia).
- Period of project:
- October 2022 - May 2023;
- Cargo:
- Ammonia converter
- Port of loading:
- Margera(Italy)
- Port of discharge:
- Veliky Novgorod (Russia)
Features of project
1) OOG and heavy cargo, which required the design of technical engineering documentation.
2) Complex delivery route, including sea and river parts, with two overloads at not fully equipped berths.
3) Cranes with lifting capacities of 600 tons and 800 tons, as well as a 28-axle SPMT (self-propelled modular transporter), were used to optimize cargo operations.
4) It was necessary to obtain approval from the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping and supervisory authorities due to the unique nature of the cargo and the transportation route, which involved passage under the Crimean bridge.
Key Data
Fleet-Service LLC company has successfully implemented a multimodal transportation of an ammonia converter weighing 782 tons under the route: Marghera (Italy) - Haydarpasa (Turkey) - Veliky Novgorod (Russia).
On the first leg of transportation, the cargo was transported from Italy (port of Marghera) to the port of Haydarpasa (Turkey) on the m/v "Starlet". In the port of Haydarpasa, the cargo was transferred to a 28-axle self-propelled modular transporter (SPMT) of the Goldhofer brand, using specially delivered crawler cranes such as DEMAG СС - 2800 и SANY SCC 8000. The cargo was then transported to the “ARK-20” barge and stored in the port.
To ensure that the column could be loaded onto a transport pontoon, the berth was modernized by increasing its loading capacity. The loading of an ammonium converter onto the “ARK-20” barge was arranged using the RO-RO method, with the SPMT moving and then discharging was performed onto the manufactured and installed elephant legs (pillars).
